#2
     TA-Trowelable Adhesive    CS-Contact Sheet    BACK

The material used to bond the stone/tile to the supporting underlayment is critical to the long-term durability of any outdoor floor. Traditional installations use cement based mortar, grouts and adhesives or epoxy based adhesives to permanently lock the material in place. This rigid fixture can contribute to bond falure. Instead, the GratedeX® outdoor flooring system™ uses a flexible bond technique. This allows the underlayment and stone/tile surface to expand or contract during sever temperature changes without breaking the bond or the surface. CLICK the TA or CS links above for details.

#3 UNDERLAYMENT  GratedeX® 4x4 panel

The GratedeX® underlayment is an FRP structural panel. It's designed to suport live loads of the stone/tile surface and of pedestrian foot traffic with span supports between 16-24" O.C. The panels are 48x48 inches x 1 inch thick. They are designed with open voids for water drainage. Panels can be cut to any dimension including for use as stair treads and riser. When placed over a framed bearing surface, the Bite-Tite® fasteners secure the panels in position. The Weld-Tite® adhesive can be used to add additional strength to the flooring system or to bond panel edges at stair treads and risers.

#4
   FR-Joist Framing    PS-Pedestal    PD-Surface Pad    BACK

The bearing layer or support for the GratedeX® outdoor flooring system™ is determined by the form and function of the outdoor floor. All bearing methods can support the GratedeX® outdoor flooring system™. Its weight with the gauged stone/tile surface is within the guidelines for dead loads on residential decks of 10 lbs/sq ft. This is not to be confused with the systems maximum load capacity. The FR method will apply to most elevated decking applications.
